“Quit your yappin’ pup! Your here to fight, kill, die and make me a good living!
Any questions?”

Soloom, Krypht slave master.

Splatisphere is a game of Gladiatorial combat and fighting, designed as a board game, with play commencing upon a hexagonal battle-board. The focus is primarily on combat, followed closely by blood loss and enjoyment.
Players are able to create warriors or teams of warriors to fight for them, and can use them to slaughter other players' warriors.
Each warrior is an individual, because Splatisphere boasts a wealth of original Races and different warrior choices, and sufficient variables, skills and special powers to ensure this.
The warriors of Splatisphere are managed by a player, who directs, plays with and trains them to greatness. A warrior constantly advances in skill and power, and although they start with nothing warriors can soon gain credibility and rise to levels of great esteem.
But with great esteem comes greater resistance and challenge, and only the very best warriors will survive the carnage that is Splatisphere.
It is a game that doesn't just rely on the statistics and power of a players warriors, but a game that requires strategic intelligence and a wealth of dynamic flair to master. The rules are simple but effective, designed for easy learning and smooth play, but without making play boring and too easy.
There is always something new to try or something new to do, and this makes Splatisphere a must for the 'High Action' Gamer. It contains more than enough to keep Players occupied for hours on end, and the constant supplements and add-ons coming in make it well worth small price you pay for it.
Splatisphere's great diversity and design allow it to be the perfect tournament game, able to be played with multiple people and teams, and able to be continued at any time. It's quick, fun, and tense - but most of all highly addictive.
So join in the excitement! Make a team, grab some willing friends, and then beat the absolute stuffing out of each other. Help make Splatisphere a classic, and always remember 'The Splat is Fear!'.

THE CONDENSED STORY

In a galaxy far from ours existed an advanced race known as the Krypht. A race of beautiful humanoids known for their noble esteem and valor, but also for their dictatorship government, cruelty to others and horrible wastefulness.
They are the sole inhabitants of the once lovely, now derelict world known as Flora 1. A world so abused and mistreated, that the only sounds that can be heard on its surface are of mining machinery and explosives, when once there was wildlife and waterfalls. A world the Krypht now saw as useless.

...and so it came that the Krypht left Flora 1 in search of other worlds to conquer and drain. A task that was easily accomplished by an advanced and powerful race such as the Krypht, but a task that would change the known galaxy forever...

Before long the Krypht had claimed and conquered tens of worlds and solar systems, which they immediately began desecrating for mining and construction. Deep inside though, the Krypht wanted a planet to replace the now abandoned Flora 1, but had not encountered or conquered any thus-far that could even compare.
That was of course until their navigators stumbled upon a small, lush world, hidden in a distant solar system that looked perfect. They immediately set off to investigate.
They found that the planet (which they had already taken the liberty of naming Flora 2), was inhabited by 4 primitive races, who stood their ground against the Krypht and protected their world against impossible odds. The Krypht were totally unprepared for this resistance, and were rudely beaten into retreat.
Shaken, ashamed and subdued, the Krypht fled back to their orbiting fleets in fear. Never before had races stood up to them so valiantly without concern for their own lives and welfare. They were truly surprised.
But the planets minor victory was short lived, as the Krypht returned with deadly precision, using their advanced intellect and technology to conquer the entire planet.
Boredom soon set in though, and before long the fleet and its Admiral Rivus Magnimus left to continue their conquest of the galaxy, leaving behind a large group of Krypht to populate and rule the planet.
To pass the new-found drag of his position, the president of Flora 2 Harkiem Magnimus (Son of Rivus) decided to set up fights between the primative inhabitants of the planet. His interest was sparked when he examined the extent of the conflict and brutality they naturally showed towards each other.
Soon officers and merchants began to wager money on these fights, and their popularity and interest escalated. To counter this, Harkiem errected a massive sphere-like arena to hold the fights in, which he called the Splatisphere.
The name stuck, as more and more Krypht people began to display their interest in this new-found event. They soon pushed to increase the amount of fighting conducted in the arena, and to set up proper gambling facilities.
Noble and wealthy Krypht soon began buying warriors and forming organised teams. With these teams they entered the Splatisphere and fought other teams, in a hope of winning money and respect among their peers. Soon the true essence of Splatisphere emerged.
Through time Splatisphere became a way of life for the Krypht people of Flora 2, who absorbed themselves totally in what it had to offer. It began to generate a huge cult following that extended not only to the confines of Flora 2, but across the entire galaxy and Krypht fleet as a whole.
The Krypht government found the arena a great place to sell off criminals and other societal scum they didn't want, and the bravest of the Krypht themselves even entered the Splatisphere to test their steel.

The rules and situations within the Splatisphere have changed dramatically through time, now being more focused on crowd enjoyment and action. But one thing remains true within the confines of any Splatisphere arena and to the warriors that fight within it, and that is "The Splat is Fear!".

ENTER THE SPLATISPHERE!!

THE SETTING

Although the Splatisphere world and organisation is centered around a complex science fiction environment, the player of the game is usually oblivious to this fact. They see only the inside of the Splatisphere, which is a vastly different place to its outside surroundings.
Outside the world is all technology, computers and advanced, but inside it is a different story. The creators of the Splatisphere game wanted to ensure that the original Fantasy element of gladiatorial fighting was not lost, so they tried to keep its design as close to it as possible.
They stuck with the original weapons and armor designs traditionally used, but altered them to be more durable and easy to use. The designs for these were taken from the four original races that existed on Flora 2, but were also copied from other primitive parts of the universe.
The conduct and behavior inside the Splatisphere was also kept as close to tradition as possible, with warriors being the possession of managers, training procedures being non drug enhanced and combat being primitive and hand-to-hand in nature. This ensured that it could be known as a fantasy sport.
Even the Splatisphere itself harbors very few technological marvels that can be seen. Its design was kept simple and rough, in order to capture the true essence of the sport and its history. But hidden beneath the surface of all this, can be found the complexity and technology that has ensured Splatisphere's success.
To the viewer at home it would appear that the warriors are fighting as they once did. They cannot see the video cameras, lights and crew that are involved in hosting a single match; in fact, no one can. The Splatisphere has been so well designed that not even the crowd and warriors are aware of such things.
But why go to all this trouble and expense just to see primates beat the stuffing out of each other? It's easy - Splatisphere is the center of entertainment and fun in the known galaxy. Before Splatisphere was created people had to float around space, playing cards and destroying civilizations. Before Splatisphere was created, the galaxy was a very different place indeed.
The Krypht were once a super destructive, dictator race of bastards, but now they have relaxed somewhat. Their attention has dropped from universal domination, and now rests upon the running and watching of Splatisphere. The other races in the galaxy are glad of this fact, because now for the first time they can live in peace. In some places they can even watch the stupid sport themselves.

Things are finally balanced and all is well...
